Chiefs Hail Private Individual For Constructing Community Roads

Chiefs and Residents of Yareyeya-Nyamebekyere, a suburb of Bogoso in the Western Region, will soon heave a sigh of relief as Professor Robert Asante, a private individual, has started constructing over 200 roads that have been in a deplorable state for decades.

The Chiefs complained about the challenges their people face daily, having to travel on the bad road network filled with potholes, making it bumpy, dusty during the dry season, and muddy when the rains come down.

They recounted instances where most drivers struggle to ply routes leading to various farms to transport produce to the market centres and consumers. This, according to them, leaves the farm produce unattended and rotten.

The Chief and residents thanked Professor Robert Asante and his NGO, ‘Our Foundation,’ for his kindness and resolve to help improve the means of transportation in the area.

The Chiefs also appealed to the government for infrastructural support, while they urged other charitable persons to join hands with Professor Robert Asante to promote community development.

Hon Robert Sackey Arthur, Yareyeya Assemblyman, also appealed to the District Assembly to do more to improve the community’s physical infrastructure. He also appreciated Professor Robert Asante for constructing the community roads.
