Ewuradwoa Boateng, winner of the first edition of Citi TV’s Keyboard Idol competition, is set to perform at a public recital this Friday 2nd June, 2023 at the Ghana Club.

Ewuradwoa’s upcoming piano recital will feature works from George Mensah Essilfie, Pietro Mascagni, Kenneth Kafui and JH Nketia.

It will also feature performances from other young instrumentalists and a few works for solo voice accompanied by Miss Boateng.

Her journey towards musical stardom has been supported by her parents and a host of mentors, instructors and patrons.

The Keyboard Idol show was a national competition aimed at finding – and celebrating – the best young keyboard talent in the country. It premiered in 2020 and saw participation from several young children, many of whom made a name for themselves after several competitive rounds.

Ewuradwoa Boateng, a church keyboardist and aspiring classical pianist, emerged the winner of the competition, beating 10 other finalists to the top spot. The competition was judged by the likes of Zapp Mallet, Alfred Patrick Addaquaye, Kokui Selormey and others.

Her career has seen her share the stage with the likes of Harmonious Chorale, the Greater Accra Mass Choir and other church choirs in the country. In 2018, she joined other young pianists in a masterclass at the Australian High Commissioner’s residence put together by George Francois on his extended visit to Ghana.

In 2021, the then 14-year-old performer led her fellow instrumentalists in a complete performance of Handel’s Messiah with the award-winning choir.

Ewuradwoa Boateng has also given solo piano performances at Afro Classical Nights on several occasions.
