The Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) leadership has threatened to embark on industrial action over forced eviction by armed thugs.

The leadership of CLOGSAG alleged that some members of the association had been forcefully evicted from their official residences in Accra by armed individuals.

They explained that the attacks by the armed individuals left numerous members displaced and caused significant property damage within the affected residences.

Following this development, the leadership of CLOGSAG issued a stern warning, vowing to take industrial action if authorities fail to address the situation swiftly.

The Executive Secretary of CLOGSAG, Mr. Isaac Bampoe Addo is calling for a thorough investigation into the alleged sale of government properties, a development they believe has exacerbated the plight of affected civil servants.

“It is the responsibility of the police to protect them. This has been going on since Friday night. By this time, they should have taken over the areas giving them police protection but so far nothing has been done. That is why we are calling on the IGP as a matter of urgency, to give them protection, or else we will advise ourselves. We will lay down our tools, we cannot work in such an environment,” he stated.

According to CLOSSAG, other residences in Roman Ridge, Ridge, Labone, and Kuku Hill (Osu) have also reportedly come under attack by the armed men.
