The Northern Regional Football Association is actively pursuing the arrest and prosecution of coach Iddrisu S. Napari, also known as coach Kubli, in collaboration with the Ghana Football Association and the Ghana Police.
This follows an alleged savage attack on female referee Abdul Rahman Sakina Nasara during a Women’s Division 1B League match at Tamale’s Game Centre 3.
The disturbing incident occurred on Saturday, June 17, 2023, and resulted in the match being called off in the 38th minute due to a pitch invasion and subsequent assault on the referee by Tiyumbu Ladies coach Iddrisu S. Napari.
Following his disgraceful actions, the coach has gone into hiding.
Referee Abdul Rahman Sakina Nasara received immediate medical attention at the Tamale Teaching Hospital, where she underwent a series of scans and received ongoing medical support. She is now in stable condition and being cared for at the Tamale Technical University Hospital.
The Northern Regional Crime Officer has visited the victim at the hospital and has conducted interviews with various individuals as part of the ongoing investigation.
Meanwhile, coach Iddrisu S. Napari remains at large, prompting a concerted effort by the police, the Ghana Football Association, and the Northern Regional Football Association to apprehend him.
Authorities are seeking the public’s support in locating the coach, who has vacated his home since the incident occurred. The police have reassured the public of their unwavering commitment to pursuing Coach Napari until he is arrested and brought to justice.
