Jamaican dancehall star Vybz Kartel and Ghanaian musician Shatta Wale are both in the United Kingdom ahead of separate headline performances this weekend, prompting speculation about a possible on-stage reunion.
Shatta Wale is set to headline ‘Ghana Party in the Park 2026 ShattaFestUK’ at Copthall Playing Fields in London on 1 August, while Vybz Kartel will top the bill at Reggae Land Festival in Milton Keynes on 2 August.
The timing of the two appearances has drawn attention given the artistes’ longstanding relationship. Shatta Wale has frequently cited Kartel as one of his biggest influences, and the pair have worked together on songs including “Mansa Musa Money” and the “Street Crown Remix.”

Their connection was further strengthened in 2025 when Shatta Wale became the only African artiste invited to perform at Vybz Kartel’s Freedom Concert in Jamaica, held after the dancehall icon’s release from prison. The appearance was widely seen as a reflection of the mutual respect between the two performers.
Neither artiste has indicated that a joint performance is planned. However, with both stars scheduled to perform in the UK on consecutive days, the possibility of a surprise appearance has become a topic of discussion among followers of dancehall and African music.
