Black Queens goalkeeper Cynthia Konlan says Ghana are fully focused on ending their long wait for a return to the FIFA Women’s World Cup ahead of their decisive Women’s Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinal against Malawi on Sunday.Victory over Malawi would not only send the Black Queens into the last four but also secure Ghana’s first Women’s World Cup appearance since 2007.”It’s really important for us and the whole of Ghana. We really want to go back there because it has been a long time since Ghana’s last representation at the World Cup,” Konlan said.The goalkeeper dismissed suggestions that the magnitude of the occasion could affect the players.”We are ready, we are focused. We really want to book a ticket to the World Cup, so everybody is ready.”Konlan believes the Black Queens have prepared well for the challenge and says the squad is eager to seize the opportunity to return Ghana to the global stage.
