Clarence Kenneth Ekow Peterson, popularly known in showbiz as King Pee and manager of the late Highlife legend Dada Kwaku Duah (Dada KD), has dismissed claims that the musician had unresolved issues with fellow Highlife icon Charles Kojo Fosu, better known as Daddy Lumba.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Ghana Weekend on Thursday, September 18, he described the reports as baseless social media fabrications, stressing that the two stars shared a cordial relationship until Dada KD’s passing.
“There is no truth in the rumours that Dada KD and Daddy Lumba had problems over women. About two years ago, at KAB-FAM’s show with Daddy Lumba and Nana Acheampong, KD was on stage with Lumba. How can people even suggest that? Daddy Lumba’s wife, Akosua Serwaa, is KD’s cousin, so how can cousins be romantically linked? It’s just hearsay,” he clarified.
He recounted that, Daddy Lumba warmly acknowledged Dada KD at the event and even invited them to his home the following day, where the two musicians discussed a potential collaboration.
“People don’t know this, but they wanted to record an album together. Everything was fine between them. Lumba respected KD, and KD also respected him. Unfortunately, social media always tries to create problems where there are none,” he added.
The clarification comes in the wake of swirling rumours that the two legends were not on good terms before Dada KD’s death.
