The one-week observation for the late highlife legend, Charles Kojo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, has been scheduled for Saturday, August 30, 2025.

This announcement comes after a meeting between the Ekuona Royal Family of Nsuta and the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace.

The venue for the one-week observance will be officially communicated soon, as discussions are still ongoing to finalise arrangements that reflect the legacy of the celebrated musician.

Daddy Lumba, a native of Nsuta-Amangoase in the Ashanti Region, was revered for his unmatched contributions to Ghanaian highlife music. His passing has deeply affected the nation, with tributes continuing to pour in from fans, fellow musicians, and dignitaries both locally and abroad.

The traditional meeting with the Asantehene forms part of the cultural protocols observed by the royal family and the people of Nsuta, as they seek the King’s blessings for the rites and ceremonies ahead.

More details regarding the venue and official programme for the one-week celebration will be shared by the family in the coming days.
