Dainess Foods has paid tribute to its late founder, Mrs. Janet Nana Odomaa Sarkodee, with a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) donation to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) in Accra, reinforcing the company’s commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery in Ghana.

The company presented two X-ray machine screens to the hospital’s Cardiothoracic Centre on April 17, 2026. This gesture, according to management, fulfils a heartfelt wish expressed by Mrs. Sarkodee during her period of care at the facility, where she was deeply moved by the professionalism, compassion and dedication of the medical staff.

A delegation from Dainess Foods formally handed over the equipment to the Centre’s Director and senior management. Hospital officials welcomed the support, noting that private-sector contributions continue to play a critical role in sustaining specialised healthcare services, particularly in high-demand units such as the Cardiothoracic Centre.

They further emphasised that a significant portion of the Centre’s operational support is bolstered through donations from corporate organisations and partners, making such interventions essential to service continuity and improved patient outcomes.

On the impact Dainess Foods seeks to achieve, the company told B&FT that the donation is intended to enhance diagnostic capacity and support early detection services, particularly at the Cardiothoracic Centre.

Speaking on sustainability and future interventions, it also indicated that its CSR strategy remains flexible and responsive to emerging needs.

“Our CSR approach is diverse and evolves over time. We remain open to supporting initiatives across different sectors, guided by relevance, impact, and the needs of the communities we engage with,” it added.

While the current intervention is focused on the Cardiothoracic Centre, Dainess Foods noted that it remains open to future collaborations across other departments of the hospital, depending on identified needs and alignment with its CSR priorities.

The donation underscores Dainess Foods’ positioning of CSR as a core part of its business strategy—extending its footprint beyond food production into targeted social impact initiatives aimed at strengthening critical public services.
