Former Ghana international David Accam has called on Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz to prioritize team cohesion as Ghana intensifies preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Accam’s comments follow Ghana’s 1-1 draw against Wales in a preparatory match at the Cardiff City Stadium, a result that highlighted areas the team must improve before the global tournament.
Speaking to Graphic Sports, the former winger expressed confidence in the new technical team but stressed the need to address challenges that have affected the Black Stars in recent years.
“At the moment, we have a new technical team, and hopefully they will solve the problems we had before. They need to bring cohesion to the team and help the players perform better together,” Accam said.
Ghana will make their fifth World Cup appearance and face a daunting challenge in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia. The Black Stars open their campaign against Panama on June 17 before taking on England and Croatia.
The four-time African champions are aiming to reach the knockout stage for the first time since their historic quarter-final run in 2010.
