Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legal team has sought to clarify comments suggesting the music mogul might one day perform at Madison Square Garden.
Speaking to the press, attorney Mark Agnifilo said his earlier remarks about Diddy returning to the iconic New York venue were not meant to imply anything imminent.
“While he did say to me that he hopes one day his fortune would take him maybe back to Madison Square Garden, I think that is, if ever, years down the road. And that is not in his immediate conception,” Agnifilo explained.
The lawyer described Diddy as “working very hard in jail” and “thinking about aspects of himself that caused him to be there.” He framed the rapper’s focus as one of redemption, something he believes Combs has “done the hard work to earn.”
Critics have questioned why such interviews are happening before sentencing, arguing it would be better to wait until court proceedings are complete.
