Dr Bawumia defies rains to engage constituents at Akontombra, Bodi and Sefwi Wiaso in Western North

The Presidential Candidate the NPP, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia says government recognizing the importance of cocoa production to the country’s GDP, introduced the National Cocoa Rehabilitation Programme in which has proven to be successful.

Addressing party faithful at a Community Connect engagement at Sefwi Bodi as part of his campaign tour in the Western North region, Dr Bawumia said the government is focused on solving problems and will ensure that the cocoa industry becomes lucrative especially for cocoa face by giving them competitive Cocoa prices as compared to neighbouring countries.

Akontombra, Bodi and Sefwi Wiaso in the Western North Region came alive when the possibility campaign team of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia touched base.

Dr Bawumia defied the downpour to engage constituents. His campaign began with the usual courtesy call on the Chiefs and people of the town and a stakeholders engagement to share the achievements of the NPP government and also share his vision with the gathering.

The meet and greet session is where Dr. Bawumia draws closer to the people by engaging them on the streets, markets and vehicles. Dr Bawumia later crowned his tour with a Community connect amid cheers by the exuberant youth of the town who wait eagerly late in the night to listen to his Bold Solutions for Business and Jobs.

Dr Bawumia addressing the crowd said the NPP government has fulfilled the promises made to the people over the years hence a vote for him, will enable him to continue with the good works.

Touching on the National Cocoa Rehabilitation Programme which is aimed at rehabilitating farms which have been affected by the Cocoa Swollen Shoot Virus Disease, Dr Bawumia stated government’s intention of ensuring that Cocoa farms are disease-tolerant for good yields.

He also indicated that under the DRIP initiative, roads especially in Cocoa growing areas will see a face-lift.

On youth empowerment, the Presidential Candidate, Dr Bawumia re-echoed his plans to train one million youth in ICT.

The NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Bodi, Nicholas Andoh charged the constituents to vote for him and the Presidential Candidate in the December polls.

The MP for Dome Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo who has been on the campaign trail said a vote for the NPP, is a vote that will bring continuity to the Free SHS Policy.

Dr. Bawumia urged Ghanaians to give the NPP the chance to continue to implement its human-centered policies.
