Ghana’s Acting Chief Justice (CJ), His Lordship Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, has appointed Dr. Cyracus Badinye Bapuuroh as the interim Judicial Secretary.

The Judicial Secretary (JS) Her Ladyship Cyra Pamela Koranteng, tendered her resignation days after the suspension of Her Ladyship Chief Justice Gertrude Araba Esaaba Sackey Torkornoo.

Dr. Cyracus Bapuuroh has thus been directed to assume the role of Judicial Secretary, following the approval of the resignation of Her Ladyship Pamela Koranteng.

The decision was taken at the 291st Meeting of the Judicial Council held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.

In a memorandum issued by Acting Chief Justice Baffoe-Bonnie, Dr. Bapuuroh is to take up the duties of Judicial Secretary in an acting capacity “pending decision by the Judicial Council and the eventual appointment of a substantive Judicial Secretary.”

“All members of the Judiciary, the Judicial Service of Ghana, and the general public are to take note accordingly,” the memo stated.

Dr. Bapuuroh’s appointment is expected to ensure continuity in the administrative leadership of the Judicial Service as the Council prepares to name a permanent successor.

Her Ladyship Pamela Koranteng, who exits the role after years of service, is yet to publicly comment on her decision to step down.
