Following his success in the just-ended December 7 general election, the former president who doubled as the flagbearer of the NDC has become the talk of town.
As he continues to be in a state of gay, a concerned Ghanaian, identified as Dr. Opoku Agyemang has succinctly weaved together words to congratulate the president-elect and also, inform him of certain happenings.
Meanwhile, let us look at the letter Dr. Opoku Agyemang has written to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama.
A Call for Unity and Respectful Conduct By Dr. Opoku Agyemang
Dear President-Elect John Mahama,
Congratulations on your recent victory. As you prepare to lead our great nation, it is essential to remind all members of your party, especially those in prominent positions, of the responsibility they carry. I feel compelled to bring to your attention the recent actions of Basintale, the Deputy Communications Officer for the NDC.
It has come to light that Malik Basintale has made comments threatening the rank of COP Faustina Agyeiwaa Coffie, the Director General of the CID. Such statements are not only unwarranted but also detrimental to the image of your party and the nation as a whole. Ghana is a democratic nation with established laws, and no individual possesses the authority to unilaterally threaten the careers of public servants.
As your supporters look to you for guidance, it is crucial to instill in them the values of respect, unity, and accountability. We must all work together to build a better Ghana, and this starts with fostering a culture of respect for our institutions and those who serve in them.
Let us be reminded that our actions as leaders and supporters reflect on the entire nation. We must encourage a spirit of cooperation and civility, especially in these transitional times.
Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I wish you the very best as you embark on this important journey.
Sincerely,
Dr. Opoku Agyemang
