The District Level Elections in Kuntunse Electoral Area within the Ga-West Municipal Assembly ended on a dramatic note as supporters of the runner-up, Moses Abbey rained curses on the Electoral Commission Officers and the supporters of the winner, Ruth Amevade for allegedly rigging the election.

The election ended with Ruth Amevade gathering 771 votes and Moses Abbey gathering 753 votes in what majority of the electorates describe as the keenly contested Assembly member election in the history of the Kuntunse Electoral Area.

The drama unfolded as counting and collation of all results from the 17 polling stations across the electoral area took over four hours to be finalized. The supporters of the runner-up, Moses Abbey claimed, the Returning Officer and her team allowed unofficial agents of the winner, Ruth Amevade into the collation area to effect changes and intentionally cause delay into the announcement of the results.

An Agent of Mr. Abbey also explained that, per their tabulated results from the various polling stations, their candidate stood far ahead of their keen opponent and did not understand why it should take over four hours for the results to be announced. This act, he tagged as a skewed move by the E.C officials to deny their candidates victory because the collation center was situated in the support zone of Madam Ruth Amevade.

According to close sources, both candidates Moses Abbey and Ruth Amevade are all members of the National Democratic Congress and the supporters of the former have threatened to quit the party following the unfair treatment that was meted out to them. They claim the margin between the results evidently affirms their actions and curse raining.
