Atletico goalkeeper Jan Oblak emerged as the hero, saving two penalties from Alexis Sanchez and Davy Klaassen. Inter’s Lautaro Martinez then blazed his spot-kick over the bar, sealing his team’s fate.

The draw for the quarter-finals takes place on Friday, March 15 at 11:00 GMT, with Atletico potentially facing off against Arsenal, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Paris St-Germain, Real Madrid, or Borussia Dortmund, who defeated PSV Eindhoven in the other tie on Wednesday.
