Elite Academy, Prempeh strengthened their position among the leading contenders at the 2026 KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship with a 5-0 win over Volta Region on Matchday Three.

The result extended the Academy boys perfect record at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, where they delivered another dominant performance.

Thomas Asante opened the scoring, before Yusuf Sabits and Michael Brebi both scored twice to complete a comprehensive victory for Elite Academy, Prempeh.

Elite Academy, BIG Boss also came from behind to beat Brong Ahafo 2-1 and inflict their first defeat of the competition.

Brong Ahafo moved in front in the 60th minute when Bright Ameyaw scored. Their lead lasted nine minutes, with Abotaaba Bernard Ayamdoo bringing Elite Academy, BIG Boss level in the 69th minute.

Desmond Ndego then completed the turnaround 10 minutes later to secure all three points.

Greater Accra were held to a 1-1 draw by Upper East but eventually won 3-2 on penalties.

They made the ideal start when Nicholas Yeboah put them ahead in the second minute. Upper East responded through Samson Tamzu, whose equaliser sent the match to a shootout.

At the FIFA pitch, Central Region recorded their first victory of the tournament by defeating Northern Region 2-0.

Emmanuel Armah broke the deadlock in the 21st minute, while Issaka Mahmoud added a second goal to confirm Central Regions success.

Eastern Region make emphatic statement

Eastern Region produced one of the days most notable results in Tuesdays early-morning fixture at the betPawa pitch, beating defending champions Ashanti Region 4-0.

Isaac Buabeng Jnr gave Eastern Region the lead in the 11th minute, and Kingsford Sakyi doubled their advantage in the 30th minute.

Stanley Akamah Tetteh scored four minutes later to make it 3-0, before Bright Botway completed the rout in the 79th minute.

Western Region also moved to the top of Group B after a 3-1 victory over Upper West Region.

Abu Frank opened the scoring in the 69th minute, with Emmanuel Nyakum adding two more goals in quick succession in the 73rd and 75th minutes.

Iddrisu Abdul Shakur reduced the deficit for Upper West, but Western Region held on to take all three points.

The KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship is part of the Ghana Football Associations Talent Development Scheme (TDS), which aims to identify, develop and nurture emerging football talent across the country.

Sponsored by the KGL Foundation, the competition gives promising U17 players an opportunity to display their technical ability, tactical understanding and potential while gaining competitive experience against leading young talent from across Ghana.
