Edmond Boateng, Honorary Consul of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to Ghana and Secretary General of the Honorary Consular Corps of Ghana, is set to deliver the keynote address at the upcoming Africa–Luxembourg Community (ALC) Summit, a high level platform focused on deepening economic, financial, and institutional collaboration between Africa and Luxembourg.
The ALC Summit brings together policymakers, financial institutions, development partners, and private sector leaders to advance practical engagement between Africa and one of Europe’s most sophisticated financial centres. Luxembourg’s global leadership in investment funds, sustainable finance, and cross border capital structuring positions it as a strategic partner for Africa’s development priorities.
In his keynote address, Mr. Boateng will outline a clear and forward looking framework for Africa–Europe cooperation, emphasising a shift from traditional engagement models toward structured, mutually beneficial partnerships anchored in finance, innovation, and institutional credibility.
He is expected to highlight the importance of aligning African opportunities with Luxembourg’s financial ecosystem to unlock capital for infrastructure, energy transition, and industrial growth.
A central focus of the address will be the need to develop credible and bankable African projects supported by strong governance and regulatory certainty. Positioning Ghana as a stable gateway to West Africa, Mr. Boateng will underscore the country’s readiness to attract and facilitate international investment, while presenting Luxembourg as a trusted financial hub capable of channeling global capital efficiently into African markets.
The keynote will further explore priority areas of collaboration, including correspondent banking relationships, access to corporate and trade finance, wealth and asset management, and the development of innovative financial instruments tailored to emerging markets.
Sustainable finance will feature prominently, with particular attention to green bonds, climate aligned investments, and scalable financing solutions for Africa’s evolving needs.
Mr. Boateng is also expected to call for deeper institutional partnerships between African governments and Luxembourg based institutions such as the Association of Banks in Luxembourg, advocating for structured engagement that prioritises compliance, transparency, and long term value creation.
Beyond finance, the address will touch on broader areas of cooperation, including knowledge exchange, capacity building, and innovation driven growth. He will encourage stronger linkages between African enterprises and European capital markets, while urging African institutions to position themselves competitively within the global financial system.
His participation at the ALC Summit reflects Ghana’s growing diplomatic and economic engagement with Luxembourg and the wider European ecosystem, and signals a broader continental shift toward pragmatic, results driven partnerships.
The Africa–Luxembourg Community (ALC) Summit is expected to yield actionable outcomes and sustained engagement, reinforcing a shared commitment to finance led growth, innovation, and long term prosperity across both regions.
