Equatorial Guinea, in their second group game against Guinea-Bissau, put on a wonderful display at the Ebimpe Olympic Stadium as they trashed Guinea-Bissau by 4:2 on Thursday, January 18, 2024.

Guinea-Bissau were utterly destroyed by the rampant display from the Nzalang National of Equatorial Guinea, who had their shots firing at all cylinders as they opened the scoring in the 21st minute when Emilio Nsue started his journey to grab a hat trick in the game.

Equatorial Guinea eventually were peaked back a few minutes after going up when Esteban Orozco was forced to turn the ball into his own net in the 37th minute under pressure from Franculino Dju.

Guinea-Bissau, after equalising along the line, was awarded a penalty, but it was overturned by a VAR review.

The second half saw Equatorial Guinea in a different mood when Josete Miranda immediately opened the scoring in the 46th minute to put them ahead after a superb long-range assist from goalkeeper Jesus Owono.

Emilio Nsue came to the party in the second half, as he scored in the 51st minute to hand Equatorial Guinea a comfortable 3:1 lead. 10 minutes after scoring his brace, Nsue completed his hat-trick by rounding the goalkeeper and slotting the ball into the net.

Guinea-Bissau, on the dying embers, had to settle for consolation as they pulled one back in the 90th minute.
