Ex-Hammarby scout Leslie Bartels has been tipped as the ideal candidate for Hearts of Oak’s General Manager role, Ghana Sports Online has learnt.
Pressure is mounting on the club’s hierarchy following a tumultuous 2022/23 season where the Rainbow club flirted with relegation until the last game of the season.
Fans of the capital club have expressed their dissatisfaction with the performance of the club’s executive hierarchy led by Alhaji Braimah and Vincent Odotei.
Supporters of the club want a new direction for the club and the former Nkoranza Warriors bankroller’s name has come up strongly for the job.
Bartels, who was actively a FIFA certified agent from 2010 to 2017 also scouted for Ghana Premier League club Great Olympics and the UK-based sports management firm Kamsports International from 2005 to 2006.
Most fans believe that Bartels’ wealth of experience and knowledge of the game will strategically reposition the club in line with their recent partnership with German Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim and MLS side FC Cincinnati.
