Former Asante Kotoko striker Abdul Fatawu Safiu is on the verge of a return to Ghanaian football, with newly promoted Ghana Premier League side Debibi United closing in on his signature.The 32-year-old forward trained with the club on Tuesday, and a deal is expected to be finalised if ongoing contract negotiations are successfully concluded. For a club making its top-flight debut, landing a player of Safiu’s experience would represent a major statement of intent.Safiu’s career has been hampered by serious injury issues in recent years.
