The Back to Your Village Food Festival, an annual event organised by Citi FM and Channel One TV to climax Heritage Month, brought together Ghanaians for a two-day extravaganza at the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA).

While the rich culture of Ghanaian dishes was on full display, it was the presence of indigenous Ghanaian drums and beats that created a vibrant atmosphere throughout the event.

The Festival featured an outstanding lineup of artistes over the two days, giving patrons even more reasons to enjoy amazing Ghanaian cuisine along with some great Ghanaian music.

On day one [Saturday, March 29], Edzordzinam Fafali Borborbor Band made a grand entrance to the stage before delivering an exceptional Borborbor dance performance that left patrons in awe.

Just Groove Brass Band followed with an impressive repertoire of Ghanaian songs, beautifully brought to life through their brass and strings.

Dromo Naa did not disappoint, as always, delighting patrons with popular Ghanaian Highlife songs before moving on to an engaging set of Ga folk tunes.

Day two, March 30, kicked off with a performance by the National Dance Ensemble, presenting a dance from the Savannah region of Ghana.

Despite the rain, Adaha Dance Band took center stage and delivered a remarkable performance to climax the festival.

Although the event was scheduled to end at 10 PM on the second day, changes in weather brought the festivities to an early close.

Patrons, however, left with lasting memories of the beats and rhythms that made the festival a resounding success.
