The Executive Forum (EF) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presented 20 motorbikes, 100,000 T-shirts, and an undisclosed sum of cash to the Party’s flagbearer Alhaji Dr. Mahamoudu Bawumia at a recent meeting in Accra to further boost the party’s campaign ahead of the 2024 elections. The donation, not only bolsters the campaign activities but underscores EF’s commitment to ensuring the NPP remains formidable on the ground as the election approaches. With the general election just weeks away, EF’s dedication and contributions aim to bolster Dr. Bawumia’s campaign efforts and galvanize the party’s support base for a decisive victory.

In a brief speech, the vice chairman of the forum, Nana Otuo, highlighted the group’s readiness to collaborate and mobilize resources to ensure a resounding victory for the party. The EF formerly known as the Young Executive Forum (YEF) is a grouping of businessmen and women in the private sector with council status in the party.

Speaking at the meeting, the vice president Nana Otuo noted that EF has played a significant role over the years in shapingparty policy, securing new resources for the party, and filling gaps across various constituencies. He emphasized that the Forum remains steadfast in its support for Dr. Bawumia and his vision of harnessing the potential of digitalization to propel Ghana into the fourth industrial revolution.

“With a can-do spirit, YEF is fully prepared to support Dr. Bawumia’s campaign and contribute effectively to his vision of a digital economy for Ghana,” Nana Otuo remarked. He assured Dr. Bawumia of the forum’s unwavering dedication to helping him to overcome the “biggest challenge of his public life”—winning the general election in a few weeks to come.

The breakfast meeting was attended by high-profile members of the NPP, including Hackman Owusu Agyemang, Hayford Atta Kofi and Alex Dadey of the UK branch, who were commended for their consistent support of EF activities. Nana Otuo also lauded Dr. Bawumia’s running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO), expressing confidence that their combined efforts would lead the NPP to victory.

Nana Otuo acknowledged the daunting task ahead, calling on all members to contribute actively to the party’s success. “The road to victory is paved with hard work,” he said, urging members to bring their ideas and energy to the campaign. He reiterated the forum’s stance that the NPP must secure a win in the upcoming elections to continue driving Ghana’s development. And praised Dr. Bawumia’s six-point policy on illegal mining (galamsey), which he pledged to implement after the election. The policy, he explained, aims to create a sustainable and regulated mining environment, ensuring economic growth while protecting the nation’s natural resources. As private business people, EF members are especially supportive of Dr. Bawumia’s initiatives to foster a more conducive environment for private sector growth.
