A Deputy Finance Minister, Dr John Kumah has said Ghanaians will see further decline of inflation as government continues to work harder to achieve a robust economy.
He made the statement after his acclamation for the New Patriotic Party‘s (NPP) parliamentary seat of the Ejisu Constituency on January 25.
“The President, the Finance Minister keep saying we have turned the corner, that’s exactly what it is. We really have come a very long way. We know times in the last year or two have been very difficult for our country when inflation rose up to 54%.
Today, we are around 23.2% and we believe it will continue to decline and go down and once, we are seeing some ease in the economy, it is going to reflect in so many positive directions for us. So, rest assured, is under control and we are going to see more positive vibes on the economic front” he said.
The Ejisu lawmaker is among five incumbent MPs from the Ashanti Region who are going unopposed in the ruling NPP parliamentary primaries.
The parliamentary primaries are slated for Saturday January 27 in constituencies where the NPP has sitting Members of Parliament.
Meanwhile, some delegates in constituencies where the parliamentary seats are being contested are cashing in on the situation.

They have described the election to be held on Saturday as their ‘Cocoa Season’.
