Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu, family head of the late highlife icon, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, has dismissed reports suggesting that the musician’s body has gone missing from the Transitions Funeral Home or that he has been invited by the police.

In a video circulating on social media and sighted by Ghana Weekend, Mama China,a close confidante of the late singer’s eldest sister, Ernestina Akosua Brempongmaa Fosuh, alleged that, the family head was invited by authorities to answer questions concerning the singer’s autopsy. She further claimed he was interrogated over an ongoing court case accusing him of misappropriating funeral funds.

However, speaking exclusively to Ghana Weekend on Wednesday December 10, 2025, Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu refuted all allegations, insisting that he has not been invited by the police.

He described the claims as false and a deliberate attempt to distract the family ahead of the funeral.

“I have never been invited by the police. My focus is on the funeral, which will be held on December 13, 2025, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi,” he affirmed.

He also dismissed claims that the late musician’s body had gone missing, questioning the logic behind such speculation. “How can a body that hasn’t even been buried be missing?” he queried.

These developments come amid prolonged tensions within the Fosu family over Daddy Lumba’s funeral arrangements, including disagreements over recognition of the legal spouse for widowhood rites and allegations of misappropriated funds meant for the ceremony.
