FC Samartex 1996 have appointed Nana Kweku Agyemang as their new head coach ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
The Timber Club confirmed the appointment as preparations intensify for the new campaign, with Agyemang replacing Christopher Ennin, who departed at the end of the 2025/26 season.
Agyemang arrives from Vision FC, where he earned widespread recognition for his impressive work with the Premier League side. Regarded as one of Ghana’s brightest young coaches, he built a reputation for tactical discipline, player development, and his ability to improve team performances.
His most notable achievement came last season when he guided Vision FC to Premier League survival after taking over a team battling near the bottom of the table. Under his leadership, the club produced a series of resilient performances to secure their top-flight status.
Samartex will be hoping Agyemang can replicate that success as they target a return to the upper end of the league standings after an underwhelming campaign.
Known for his structured playing philosophy and emphasis on discipline and teamwork, the new coach is expected to assess the current squad, strengthen key areas during the transfer window, and implement his ideas throughout pre-season.
The 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season is scheduled to begin between September 4 and 7, with Samartex aiming to make a positive start under their new manager.
