Ashanti Region secured their place in the finals of the Elite Boys U15 Championship after maintaining their perfect run in the group stage with a hard-fought 1-0 win against Upper East Region.
Nathaniel Owusu’s goal proved decisive, pushing Ashanti’s tally to 12 points from four matches. Ashanti’s Abraham Dagadu was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for his exceptional performance.
In the same group, Eastern Region claimed their first victory of the tournament, defeating Western Region 2-0. Goals from Kuma Desmond and Godlove Mensah sealed the win, with Anim Kelvin earning the MVP award for his contribution to Eastern’s success.
Meanwhile, in the reserves match, Northern Region edged out Volta Region in a thrilling 3-2 encounter. Mutada Mohammed, Mohammed Ahmed, and Alli Haruna found the back of the net for Northern Region, while Michael Kubgadjor and Forgive Amedor scored for Volta Region. Mutada Mohammed was recognized as the MVP for his outstanding display.
As the championship progresses, Ashanti Region remains a strong contender, while other regions continue to battle for a place in the next stage of the competition.
The championship is part of the FIFA Talent Development Scheme, offering a vital platform for young talents across Ghana to showcase their skills and gain competitive experience.
