Final funeral rites for late Ghanaian footballer Dominic Frimpong are currently underway at the Assin Dansame Durbar Grounds, drawing family, friends, teammates, and members of the football community to pay their last respects.

Frimpong, who featured for Aduana FC, joined the club at the start of the season before securing a loan move back in January in a bid to gain more playing time and continue his development. His commitment and determination on the pitch had begun to earn him recognition within domestic football circles.

Tragically, his promising career was cut short following a fatal attack involving armed robbers targeting the team. The incident, which shocked the Ghanaian football fraternity, has since sparked renewed concerns over player safety and security during team travels.

At the funeral grounds, tributes have poured in from club officials, teammates, and supporters, all remembering Frimpong as a dedicated and humble professional whose life ended too soon. The somber ceremony reflects the deep sense of loss felt across the football community.

His passing remains a painful reminder of the risks faced by athletes beyond the field, as calls for improved security measures continue.
