The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus Glover, has publicly apologized for an incident in which he destroyed the table of a local vendor at the recently inaugurated Flowerpot Interchange in Accra.

Speaking candidly in an interview on Adom FM, the regional minister admitted that his actions may have been excessive.

“I have received mixed reactions from the public; some have commended me for my quick response, while others have expressed their disappointment and criticism. I sincerely ask for forgiveness. Looking back, perhaps my response — the destruction of the vendor’s table was too extreme. My intention was to send a serious message to deter others from attempting to sell their goods under the interchange,” he explained.

Titus Glover further expressed his willingness to compensate the vendor, should she come forward. “If she shows up, I would be more than willing to provide her with funds to purchase a new table. However, it is essential that she relocates her business to a different area, as selling under the interchange is not permissible,” he emphasized.

In an effort to prevent similar situations in the future, he announced that he has directed local authorities to implement stricter measures prohibiting vendors from setting up stalls under the bridge. He aims to ensure that the newly developed area remains free of unlawful street vendors, thereby maintaining its intended purpose for traffic management and public use.
