The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP), has held discussions with Dr. Comfort Ero, President and Chief Executive Officer of the International Crisis Group.

Mr Okudzeto Ablakwa commended Dr. Ero for her exemplary leadership and the continued relevance of her periodic “10 Challenges for the UN”, describing it as a timely and practical guide that shapes global conversations on peace and security. He noted that the issues highlighted remain particularly significant as Ghana and its partners work to reinvigorate the Accra Initiative as a credible framework for regional security cooperation.

The Minister also reaffirmed the commitment of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama to pursue pragmatic, bridge-building strategies aimed at strengthening peace and security in the sub-region.

Reflecting on broader global developments, Mr Ablakwa pointed to the rise of isolationist tendencies and emphasized Ghana’s resolve to navigate these shifts through sustained dialogue, deeper partnerships, and the forging of new alliances in support of stability and economic growth across Africa.
