Former Black Queens head coach Nora Häuptle has rejoined Zambia’s women’s national team in Algiers, bringing an end to her high-profile contractual dispute with the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ).
Häuptle has linked up with the Copper Queens for their pre-2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) training camp as the team steps up preparations for the tournament.
The Swiss tactician’s return follows weeks of uncertainty surrounding her contractual situation with FAZ, which had temporarily kept her away from the squad.
Her arrival is expected to provide a significant boost to Zambia’s preparations as the Copper Queens seek to make a strong impression at the continental championship.
Häuptle previously served as head coach of Ghana’s Black Queens before taking charge of Zambia and is regarded as one of the leading coaches in women’s football on the continent.
The Copper Queens will continue their training camp in Algiers ahead of the start of WAFCON 2026.
