A landlady, who is reportedly a former police officer, has been arrested by officers from the UPSA Police Station over allegations of physically and verbally abusing tenants living in her property.

The woman is also accused of subjecting her tenants to several forms of harassment, including deliberately preventing them from accessing their rented apartments and disrupting their water supply despite payments being made.

The arrest has attracted attention on social media after a video capturing the confrontation between the landlady and the police surfaced online.

According to the allegations, the landlady allegedly changed the locks on the property’s main entrance gate to prevent some tenants from accessing their rented apartments.

She is also accused of deliberately cutting off the water supply to the tenants, even though they had reportedly paid their water bills.

Beyond these alleged actions, the woman is said to have physically and verbally abused some of the people renting rooms in her property.

The accusations have sparked discussions about the treatment of tenants by landlords and the challenges some renters face when disputes arise over accommodation.

In a video circulating on social media, officers from the UPSA Police Station are seen confronting the landlady during the arrest.

The woman initially appeared unwilling to cooperate with the officers and reportedly resisted their attempts to take her to the police station.

However, the officers maintained their position and insisted on taking her in for further action.

After the confrontation, she eventually gave in and was escorted by the police.

The footage has since generated reactions, with several social media users discussing the allegations against her and the circumstances surrounding the arrest.
