Former Deputy Minister of Health, Tina Naa Ayele Mensah, has blamed the sudden demise of the former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Weija-Gbawe, Patrick Kwasi Brako Kumor, on his removal from office.
According to the Member of Parliament for Weija-Gbawe Constituency, President Akufo-Addo removed her from the position of Deputy Minister of Health as well as her Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) without any prior discussion with them.
The MP stated this when she paid a visit to the residence of the late Patrick Kumor to sympathize with the bereaved wife and family on May 6, 2024.
Speaking with Onua News’ Akua Sarpomaa, Madam Tina Mensah alleged that, “My late MCE did not do anything to be sacked, but because he supported me, and I lost the primaries that was the only mistake my MCE made.”
“How can someone who was adjudged number one MCE at the national and regional levels be sacked? He won several awards due to his performance as MCE. He was replaced without anybody consulting me,” she stated amid wailing.

Mr Kumor’s death on Sunday, sent shock waves through social media as some netizens could not believe the news about his sudden demise.
Tina Mensah added that, “Patrick is not strong like me. If you sack me, I don’t care, but Patrick is not like me. Patrick couldn’t stop thinking about his sack and his blood pressure kept rising. ‘Afei se asa’ (it is finished), Patrick is gone”.
