The Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), Dr Ernest Addison, has justified the GHS10.5 billion losses it incurred in 2023.
He explained that the loss was similar to experiences of some central banks across the globe, which resulted from the cost incurred in delivering on their primary mandate
of price stability.
This is contained in the foreword to the BOG’s 2023 Annual Report and Financial Statement.
Mr Addison said the loss did not affect the central bank’s overall operations.
