MTN Ghana has made a generous donation to the Office of the Ga Mantse in support of the annual Homowo Festival.
The donation includes a cheque of GH¢30,000 and MTN Airtime worth GH¢2,000. The items were presented by MTN Ghana’s Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer, Madam Adwoa Wiafe, who led the MTN team to the Ga Mantse Residence in Accra.
During the presentation, Madam Wiafe explained that the donation came as a result of a warm invitation from the Ga Mantse, who had extended a hand to MTN to participate in the festival.
Wiafe stated, “We are building deeper and deeper ties with our communities, especially our chiefs, and so we came here as a show of support, and as a show of solidarity with the people as they celebrate this all-important festival.”
She continued, “As a good corporate citizen, we believe in contributing to our community, we believe in partnering with our stakeholders, and the Ga people and chiefs are important stakeholders for MTN Ghana.
So, this is why we always find it important or deem it important to participate in festivals such as the Homowo.”
The donation reaffirms MTN’s commitment to supporting local traditions and fostering community relationships.
Additionally, MTN plans to enhance the festival experience by setting up experience centers at strategic locations during the celebrations.
These centers will provide opportunities for MTN to address customer concerns, offer education on mobile money fraud and the use of pre-registered SIM cards, and promote safe practices.
The Ga Mantse, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, who received the items, applauded MTN Ghana for their kind gesture and unwavering support. He also used the occasion to wish everyone a happy Homowo and prayed for the continued growth and success of MTN.
