The government has been charged to fight galamsey with all the needed effort that it deserves, and not paying lip service to the fight against the menace.
The admonishment was given by the General Overseer of the Jesus Christ Apostolic Faith Church, Snr. Pastor Justice Abban at the end of a week-long National Camp Meeting at Agona Asafo in the Central Region on the theme: “Preaching the Lost, Reviving the Saved”.
Addressing the meeting, Pastor Abban condemned the practice, saying it poses serious health and environmental threat to the country, as it has destroyed all the major bodies in the country.
He blamed authorities for failing to show commitment to the fight against the practice, but pretending to fight the menace.
He also warned those engaged in the practice to desist from it, as the practice is dangerous to the future survival of the country.
Pastor Justice Abban further charged religious organizations to rise up and join the fight, by preaching against the practice, and urged the government to take proactive measures in addressing it, to make the future of the country safe.
