The Methodist Church Ghana and others have donated ¢342,000 Ghana to brain tumour patient Abraham Paintsil. The money is to enable him to undergo treatment in India.
Mr. Paintsil used the occasion to thank every single donor who has contributed towards his care.
Church service on Sunday at Gomoa Afransi Methodist was an outpouring of joy. After almost three years of battling various medical conditions, including a knee tumour, hearing impairment, partial loss of sight, dizziness, and finally being diagnosed with a brain tumour, help had come for 32-year-old Abraham Paintsil.
Abraham Painstil can now travel to India for a critical surgery that doctors at the Korle Bu teaching hospital say will put an end to his current difficult situation. After weeks of appeal for funds, which GBCNews also provided its platform for, a total of 342,000 Ghana cedis has been realized. The Methodist Church Ghana headquarters and the Winneba Diocese donated a cheque for 190, 691.14. The family was also able to come up with 10,000 dollars and the rest came from individuals and groups. In an interview with GBC News, Abraham Paintsil said he is emotionally ready for the surgery in India.
Some Ministers of the Methodist Church of Ghana spoke to GBCNews, first the Superintendent Minister of the Gomoa Manso Circuit, the Very Rev. Justice Esoun Kwofie, and then Rev. Mrs Grace Akua Quansah, the circuit minister Gomoa Manso.
