The Director of Marketing of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, GBC, George Lomotey, has met with the Communications Director of Wright State University, Seth Bauguess, and discussed a wide range of media collaborations as he concludes a week-long working visit to the United States.
His visit to the University, a second stop on a work visit to the US, is part of an international attempt to promote a balance between college media and mainstream media following his designation as Director of Marketing.
Mr. Bauguess detailed how the college newsroom is run daily and its expected impact in the long term.
Mr Lomotey was led to visit the offices of the college newspaper, The Wright State Guardian, where he toured the facility and engaged with outgoing Editor-in-Chief Alexis Lewis.
A major part of the discussion centered on operations of college media, with special concentrations on growth and faculty expansion. Lewis gave a fair idea of their daily operations while highlighting future opportunities.
Mr. Bauguess also briefed him on the eventual creation of the Wright State Guardian and Radio Station and why it was strictly student-run.
Mr. Lomotey used the visit to propose future exchange partnerships that will have a mutually beneficial impact on both entities.
As a gesture to mark the memorable impact of this visit, Mr. Lomotey was handed copies of the college magazine as a gift.
With a portfolio as one of the celebrated sports marketing personalities in African soccer, a key part of his visit was fully served at the Wright State Basketball Pavilion that houses the male and female raiders of Wright State University.
The Associate Athletic Director of the school, Chris Bethel, later took the Ghanaian Broadcast Marketer on an exclusive tour of the facility, briefing him on daily activities.
Before arriving in Wright State, Mr Lomotey’s first port of call was in Las Vegas, where he attended the 2024 National Association of Broadcasters Conference which lasted for four days.
