Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) Bank has donated GH¢5 million to the Black Stars ahead of the highly-anticipated 2026 FIFA World Cup next month.
The financial support comes as Ghana intensifies preparations for the global tournament under new head coach Carlos Queiroz, who has been working to assemble a strong and redoubtable squad capable of competing at the highest level.
Queiroz has already announced his squad for Ghana’s upcoming international friendly against Mexico on May 22, although several key players were left out due to club commitments.
The Black Stars are also expected to face Wales in another preparatory game in early June, with the final World Cup squad likely to be confirmed before that encounter.
Ghana has been drawn in Group L for the 2026 FIFA World Cup alongside England national football team, Croatia national football team and Panama national football team.
The Black Stars will open their World Cup campaign against Panama on June 17 before taking on England and Croatia in the remaining group-stage fixtures.
