Ghanaian-American singer-songwriter, Amaarae has spoken about the limitations of musical genres and argued in favor of a more free-form approach to music making.
Speaking in an interview with ABC News Live Prime, she asserted that when artistes choose to focus on a single genre, they place restrictions on themselves.
“Genres can be so limiting. Once you love music, you want to be able to express it in every way possible,” she stated in a short-video shared by ABC News Live on X.
