Ghanaian-American singer-songwriter, Amaarae has spoken about the limitations of musical genres and argued in favor of a more free-form approach to music making.

“Genres can be so limiting. Once you love music, you want to be able to express it in every way possible,” she stated in a short-video shared by ABC News Live on X.
