The Ghana Football Association has successfully organised its inaugural talent identification programme in the United Kingdom, with 40 players of Ghanaian descent taking part in the exercise.

The players, all born in the UK and currently attached to Category One academies, participated in the scouting and assessment programme aimed at identifying top young talents for Ghana’s future national teams.

The initiative was organised by the GFA in partnership with Coach Hene Sports Club, the Ghana High Commission United Kingdom and Prince Lamona Consult.

According to the organisers, the programme forms part of efforts by the Ghana FA to strengthen the talent pipeline for the country’s various national teams by engaging promising dual-nationality players at an early stage.

The exercise also provided an opportunity for the young players to connect with Ghanaian football officials while showcasing their abilities under the watch of scouts and technical experts.

With many players of Ghanaian heritage currently developing in top academies across England, the GFA believes the initiative could play a major role in securing future talents for the Black Stars and other national teams.
