The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has issued a legal warning to Bigscout Media over allegations made in a published video concerning a purported Black Stars call-up arrangement involving CF Montral forward Prince Owusu.
In a letter dated July 7, 2026, signed by lawyer Odupon Agyapong Atta-Agyapong of Odupon & Kishiwale, the GFA described the claims made in the video as entirely false, baseless and without any factual foundation.
The legal notice was addressed to Mr. Richard Nana Owusu Prempeh of Bigscout Media following a video shared on the platforms Facebook page and YouTube channel on July 5, 2026.
According to the GFA, the video featured a woman who alleged that officials of the association demanded 70 per cent of Prince Owusus earnings as a condition for facilitating his invitation to the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The woman further claimed that after the players family and management rejected the alleged demand, a 50-50 arrangement was proposed but was later abandoned because the terms were deemed unfavourable.
However, the GFA has strongly denied the allegations, insisting that no official, employee or representative of the association has ever demanded, solicited, negotiated or agreed to receive any percentage of Prince Owusus earnings in relation to a possible Black Stars call-up or any other matter.
The association accused Bigscout Media of publishing and spreading the claims without verification or giving the GFA an opportunity to respond, arguing that the publication had damaged its reputation and falsely suggested corruption and abuse of office among its officials.
The GFAs lawyers have demanded that Bigscout Media immediately remove the video and all related publications, stop further dissemination of the allegations, issue a public apology and retraction with equal prominence, and provide a written undertaking not to repeat similar claims.
The legal firm also requested that all digital materials, records, communications and related content connected to the publication be preserved pending possible further legal action.
The GFA gave Bigscout Media 48 hours from receipt of the letter to confirm compliance with the demands, warning that failure to do so could result in legal proceedings, including claims for defamation and injunctive relief.
