The Member of Parliament for Old Tafo, Vincent Ekow Assafuah, has donated GH¢10,000 to Ghana’s national amputee football team, the Black Challenge, as part of efforts to boost their morale ahead of the 2026 WAFF Amputee Football World Cup in Mexico.

Mr Assafuah made the donation during a visit to the team at their hotel in Achimota, Accra, where he also presented cartons of water and soft drinks to support the players.

The visit served as a show of solidarity and encouragement to the team as they intensify preparations for the international tournament, scheduled to take place in San Juan de los Lagos, Mexico, from November 13 to 22, 2026.

Mr Assafuah commended the players for their determination and commitment to representing Ghana on the international stage, stressing the importance of supporting their efforts to bring honour to the country.

He also pledged to help mobilise additional support for the team in the coming days, urging other stakeholders to contribute to the Black Challenge’s World Cup campaign.

The donation comes as the team continues preparations for the tournament, where Ghana will be seeking to make a strong impression against some of the world’s best amputee football nations.

The gesture highlights the importance of collective support from individuals, corporate organisations and public institutions in helping the Black Challenge achieve their ambitions and proudly fly Ghana’s flag in Mexico.
