Defender Alidu Seidu has extended his journey at Stade Rennes, as the Ghanaian international has agreed to sign a contract extension that will keep him there until 2029.The Rennes club administration appears to have entrusted Seidu, having endured all the wars on and off the field, following a serious knee injury.Since joining Rennes fourteen months ago during the winter transfer window, Seidu has emerged as a crucial member of the squad. His ability to play right back, left back, or as a center-back has earned him a coveted status. His no-nonsense attitude and leadership abilities captured the hearts of the fans and his teammates, and that was topped with the awarding of Player of the Month for September and October. But his progress was cut short on November 24th, when he tore the cruciate ligament in his left knee playing Lille.Despite this, Seidu is still an untamed figure in the club. His smile and spirit are as infectious as they cut through the corridors of the training facility while he labours day and night on his rehabilitation.”I keep working hard every day to prepare for my comeback and get back to my pre-injury level,” said Seidu, showing unrelenting optimism.Rennes management has shown total confidence in Seidu’s ability and temperament.Arnaud Pouille, Executive Chairman and CEO of Rennes, was delighted to confirm the extension:”His trademark smile isn’t a facade; Alidu has a genuine, wonderful aura about him. On the field, too, he knows how to assume responsibility.”He’s a leader who has made his presence felt since his arrival. We’re particularly looking forward to seeing him back on the field.”While undergoing his rehabilitation, Seidu is as committed as ever, eager to return to the pitch and pay back the confidence the club has in him.
