Kurt Okraku being interviewed

Ghana Football Association president Kurt Okraku says the just-ended Premier League season, in which Medeama emerged champions, exceeded his expectations, and that the country’s football is alive and well.

Okraku was in Tarkwa with other officials and dignitaries as Medeama defeated Tamale City 3-0 to become champions for the first time at Akoon Park.

Following the game and the presentation of medals and the trophy to the deserving champions, Mr Okraku shared his overall assessment of the season.

“Unbelievable, unbelievable, beyond my expectations. Today, we have made a strong statement that we possess an unwavering passion for our sports. We love our GPL (Ghana Premier League), and our GPL is alive,” Okraku expressed enthusiastically during an interview with StarTimes.

He continued, “What we have witnessed this season has been an incredible journey. It has been a season that allowed all of us to indulge in football at the highest level of quality. Until the very last minutes of our game on the final day, everyone was on the edge of their seats. Ghana football is undeniably alive.”
