Ghana Publishing Company launches Gazette Verification Platform and E-Bookshop

The Ghana Publishing Company Limited (GPCL) has launched a Gazette Verification Platform and an E-Bookshop to improve access to official government publications and curb the circulation of fake gazettes.

The platforms were launched in Accra on Monday, October 19, 2026, as part of the company’s efforts to digitise its services and make authentic government documents more accessible to the public.

Speaking at the launch, GPCL Managing Director, Nana Kwasi Boatey, said the verification platform would enable individuals and institutions to confirm the authenticity of gazettes online without visiting the company’s offices. The system will also allow the public to access published gazette notices and check their publication dates, helping to address disputes over official records.

The E-Bookshop, meanwhile, allows customers to order copies of Acts of Parliament, the 1992 Constitution and other official publications online for delivery to their preferred locations. The service is expected to reduce the time and transportation costs incurred by people, particularly those outside Accra, in obtaining official documents.

Mr Boatey also warned that printing and selling unauthorised copies of Ghana’s laws was a criminal offence, stressing that GPCL was the institution legally mandated to print and sell the country’s laws. He disclosed that several arrests had been made in connection with fake gazettes, with some prosecutions ongoing and others concluded.
