The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ghana has hosted senior officials from Sierra Leone for the inaugural technical session of the Permanent Joint Commission for Cooperation (PJCC) in Accra on April 21, 2026.
Chief Director and Co-Chairperson, Khadija Iddrisu, said the session activates a mechanism established in 2013 to provide structured dialogue between the two countries and recalled longstanding ties built on mutual respect and cooperation.
She urged participants to focus on key sectors including trade and investment, defence and security, agriculture, energy, and health.
Co-Chairperson and Director-General of Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Alan C.E. Logan, described the meeting as a step toward translating the shared vision of both countries into concrete outcomes.
He reaffirmed Sierra Leone’s commitment to strengthening economic partnership and collaboration, and highlighted the importance of leveraging Ghana’s experience in sectors such as agriculture.
The session aims to deepen bilateral relations and promote sustainable development through structured cooperation between Ghana and Sierra Leone.
