The list of the top 10 most viewed African singers on YouTube is out, and sadly, no Ghanaian artists made the cut. However, Nigerian singers Burna Boy and Wizkid were both included.
The list, which was compiled by The Nation, represents a diverse array of music icons across Africa, with Egyptian musicians dominating the top five spots.
Mohamed Ramadan is the most-watched African singer on YouTube, with over 5.37 billion views. He is followed by Saad Lamjarred, Tamer Hosny, Soolking, and Hassan Shakosh.
Burna Boy is the only Nigerian singer to make the top six, coming in at number six with over 2.249 billion views. Wizkid is the ninth most-watched African singer, with over 1.762 billion views.
The list also includes singers from Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Congo. Nigeria is the only country from West Africa on the list.
Their songs have hit the top of global charts, sold millions of records, and been featured on the summer playlists of prominent figures.
They are also both recipients of international awards, including Grammy nominations.
