German-born Ghanaian attacker Moritz-Broni Kwarteng has intensified his training regime at VfL Bochum following a knee injury.
Bild reported on Wednesday that the attacking midfielder, who had been recovering from a partial medial ligament tear, has resumed full team training. Kwarteng had previously avoided tackles and game simulations.
The 26-year-old’s readiness for the start of the competitive season remains uncertain, with coach Peter Zeidler advocating for patience. Bochum recently participated in a blitz tournament against Italian sides FC Südtirol and FC Bologna. Despite a 2-0 loss to Südtirol, Bochum bounced back with a convincing 4-0 victory over Bologna.
The Bundesliga club is set to play their final pre-season friendly against French team Le Havre AC on August 10. Kwarteng’s increased workload suggests he may be nearing a return to competitive action, providing a boost to Bochum’s attacking options.
