Scottish-born Ghanaian defender Ewan Otoo played a pivotal role in Dunfermline Athletic’s 2-0 victory against Raith Rovers in the Scottish Championship.
The match, held at the KDM Group East End Park, saw Dunfermline secure their 10th win against Raith Rovers, who have 12 wins and 10 draws in their head-to-head record.
Otoo started the game and lasted the full 90 minutes, showcasing his defensive prowess and offensive capabilities. The turning point came in the 16th minute when Raith Rovers’ Euan Murray received a red card, reducing his team to ten men.
Dunfermline capitalized on their numerical advantage in the 52nd minute when Otoo scored a spectacular left-footed shot from outside the box, assisted by David Wotherspoon following a corner. The goal was Otoo’s second of the season, having made five appearances in the Scottish Championship.
Wotherspoon later sealed the victory with a goal of his own in the 80th minute, assisted by Josh Cooper. Despite Raith Rovers having more possession, Dunfermline Athletic dominated with more shots and secured a well-deserved win.
Dunfermline Athletic will aim to continue their winning streak as they face Partick Thistle in their next game on September 21st.
